A 42-year-old man from Woodward Township, PA in Lycoming County was looking for love and thought he found it on April 12, 2022.

He was contacted by a woman online, and he was attracted to her.

Over the course of the next several months, their relationship grew deeper and more intimate. It was true love, or so he thought this was the woman of his dreams.

His “intimate lover” convinced him to invest a large amount of money in various cryptocurrencies, with most of his money invested in the cryptocurrency, Tether.

She was up to something, but he never suspected it.

The Romance Crypto Scam

On July 16, 2022, her intentions became clear, and then the scam came to fruition. His crypto wallet was emptied, and his relationship turned out to be a con to steal his money. He was left robbed and heartbroken.

The man reported the $110K theft in cryptocurrency to the PA State Police. They are asking the public for help.
