A 34-year-old woman finds success as an entrepreneur selling handmade jewelry on Etsy. She earned over a million in 2018 and it grows each year.

34-year-old Ashley Bostwick from Orlando, Florida worked a full-time job in Human Resources and wanted to start an income-producing hobby as a “distraction from a devastating breakup.”

After further investigation, Ashley realized that she wanted to sell something on Etsy, the online marketplace for “handmade, vintage, custom, and unique gifts.”

She started with $300 USD to buy the materials to make her first jewelry pieces and listed them on the site.

Ashley was willing to do whatever it took to make her online business successful. She was eager to learn.

In her first year, she earned $20,000 — which happened to be about half of what she was earning at her HR job.

At that moment, her hobby wasn’t enough money to quit her job, so she decided to look for a niche in the market, to really stand out.
