An entrepreneur created a successful low-sugar candy business after a conversation with her grandmother that turned her into a millionaire.

Meet Tara Bosch in her 20s, who began candy-making experiments in her kitchen at home to create a “healthier candy” that tastes great and is better for you than traditional sugar-laden traditional candy because it has much less sugar.

She was on to something.

So much so that only two months after she began her recipe testing, Tara dropped out of college at the University of British Columbia and began producing her candy “Smart Sweets” — which she was able to get into retail stores in Canada.

Her pursuit for a healthier candy all started at home and has been a personal journey, with much inspiration coming from time spent with her precious grandmother.

Her relationship with food and candy is not unlike that of many kids growing up in North America, and yet she was ready to do something about it, after years of watching Dragon’s Den and Shark Tank on TV.

She was ready and motivated to embark on her own entrepreneurial journey.
